A closed-end equity fund issues a fixed number of units that trade on the exchange while the manager invests the pool in a share portfolio; investors enter and exit by trading the listed units. Because the unit count is fixed, the market price can trade above or below net asset value, and the discount or premium is itself closely watched. Such listed funds are now very rare on Bursa.
