A business trust packages cash-generating operating assets, such as highway toll concessions, into a listed trust that distributes cash to unitholders, similar in spirit to a REIT. A trustee-manager runs the underlying assets, and distributions come from operating cash flow rather than rent. Listed business trusts remain a rare structure on Bursa Malaysia.
